need help what cam should I go with?

First off I want a rough killer sounding cam that can put the power down too. I was thinking of a crane that is .234/234 lift .512/512 and lunati the same way or a Edelbrock cam that is .224/.234 lift .496/.520 . Iam wanting to go with the Edelbrock one. My heads are going to be a set of jegs heads with 2.02/1.60. 58 cc I going all out that I can for under $1500 on the bottom end.

I have the Edelbrock cam that you speak of. My signature is not correct anymore.... I rebuilt the 302 +.030, installed flat top pistons, ported stock heads, Edelbrock Perf RPM intake, 600 CFM carb, Perf RPM cam, roller rockers, long tube headers w/ 2.5" pipes and Flowmasters (the quiet ones - 50 series?).

I don't have much vacuum at idle (11 inches) but when I stand behind the car, it sounds pretty healthy - although a little quiter than I expected (due to the mufflers).

In general, if you want more 'lope' at idle, look for cams that have less lobe separation. This will also move your power band to a higher RPM though and cost you vacuum at idle. If you have power brakes, you want to go with ~112 degree lobe separation or more to maintain vacuum.

My power brakes work fine with the Edelbrock cam (and 11 inches vacuum).

I would go with that first crane one, and some 1.7 roller rockers to take the lift up to .544. That will move a healthy amount of air, and really wake up the engine. Plus it will sound flat out mean down low. Also you will have to notch your pistons for a 2.02 valve on your cylinder heads. The only ones that can work with those without doing that are the twisted wedge heads by trickflow.
