seriously. other than being nostalgic the notch has nothing on the escort. the escort is 100xs the daily the notch could ever hope to be. the escort is faster, gets twice the fuel economy, holds more people, safer, more comfortable I am sure, most likely cheaper to insure, more reliable....need I go on?

I drove a Neon for a couple of years for the gas mileage (gave up my Dakota R/T for it). I hated every moment of it, after a little while I decided that if I was going to be burning a portion of my life in a car (I drive 27 miles one way to work) that it was going to be a car I was happy to drive, see in the parking lot, etc. So I dumped the Neon and bought a WRX. I haven't regretted it for a second. Thats why I say sell the scort.

You already have a Notch that needs money and parts for the turbo. The baby stang will sit there, tease you, taunt you and will want you to put more parts on and throw more money at it. The Escort on the other hand will not. Just put gas in it, an air freshener and drive in comfort. ( get the coconut tree kind, those are my favorite)
Besides, if you put the two Notches together for to long they might breed and who knows what would come of that.

Isn't it funny how things turn out? I have a turbo, you need a turbo, you have a 351, I need a 351. Soon it will be on!

well the notch is for sale i still need a few more pieces for the escort to be up to my stadards to sell to someone and feel comfortable with the sale. So as it stands i will probably keep the escort, but as soon as i get the parts they both will be for sale and witchever sells first goes.I think the better one to keep is the escort cause it will be less need for mods unlike the stang. I bought this stang with plans to lower it tint the windows and put wheels on it. Now look what i've done rearend arms shifter alum driveshaft on and on............ peace

I DD a 98 scort. With a 33 mile commute each way to work I love it. Awesome gas miliage (around 35) and I really havent had any problems with the car.

I have noticed they develop a rod knock, not enough for me to worry about it, just a bit annoying at drivethrus and such. Keep the scort.

My exwife and i bought a escort brand new in 1998. Good little car it had 100,000 mile antifreeze in it! Only thing i'm not liking so far with the escort is the dam plugs are $5.99 each......well to the public they are I hear ya there i filled this one up to the max and i got to 108 miles till i got to a 1/4 tank! I'm between 1/2 and 3/4 and have 279 some miles on it.Ya know for this car sitting since 2005 in terrible weather conditions. I changed the oil and filter cleaned the fuel tank out put a new fuel filter new plugs new air filter and dam it this thing fired right off no smoke no noise purrrrrred like a kitten! peace

The 4 banger would make a beautiful carbed 408 swap, but honestly I would keep the escort. DA the hood, rattle can it black, clear it and you would look like every other guy who bought a compact from a wannabe import guy. The mileage is better, the need to mod it is reduced. Heck, throw in some used audio for your commutes and enjoy 30+ miles a gallon and the knowledge that no one on the Cali highways is willing to trade paint with your DD. Its a highly rewarding feeling.
