I have a RF 451s which is 4ohms stable. I also have to audiobahn 12s that are dvc 4ohms. Right now I only have 1 and its wired like the bottom picutre

what will be the effects of having a 4ohm sub wired like a 2ohm sub? Or is that picture 4 ohms? I think its 4ohms but am I getting all the power out of my amp at 4ohms or is the amp 8ohms?

Ok, the sub is Impedance: dual 4 ohms. I have it wired like that bottom picture which is 2ohms, I think. Is that bad?

If your amp is ONLY 4 ohm stable, thats weak, almost all of the amps nowadays are 2 ohm stable at least. If you run you amp at 2 ohm its will get put out more power but get hot faster and might burn up.

I have a X-File 2000 watt D class(my old company) that i wired to 1/2 ohm on my buddies truck with 4 L7 12's,it hasnt shut off yet, byut that doesnt mean that it wont sooner or later

ok i just checked your amps specs
115 W X 2 @ 4 Ohms RMS

225 W X 2 @ 2 Ohms RMS

450 W X 1 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS

so what your gonna do is wire each speaker's voice coil in series so its a 8ohm load and then wire them both in parallel so you get a 4 ohm mono load

Do I need to wire it like this

If I wire it like that then I am getting 450rms, right?

I am getting confused so I will try to draw a picture
This is the sub

ooooo

Do I run a wire from the top left - to the bottom right +. Then I run a wire from the amp to top right + and to the bottom left -. Then I bridge the amp.?

I have it wired like http://www.audiobahn.com/tech/wiring/Series_Series_dual_4_ohm.pdf top picture. My amp says 450rms at 4ohms. Am I getting half of 450 at 8ohms?

I know I probably sound dumb but i probably am.

I tried drawing a picture

also, does it matter if the wire is in the inside and outside holes? Like there are 2+ and 2- on one side. If I had a + on the inside wired to a - on the outside. Will that matter?

yes, wire it like the first pic to get a 8 ohm load, then wire both woofers together to get 4 ohms briged,so your amp will have 1 +- going to both speakers.
If your amp sees a 8 ohm load, you will not get 450 watts

Do not rin the wires inside the speaker basket, the excursion of the woofer will vibrate on the wires.
