Hey, I have a 98 Cobra, car seems to run great, but when I floor it, it pulls good up to 5000 & then feels like it hits a wall, like it's running out of gas. It will continue to pull up to 7000 very slowly & it almost seems that it starts trying to get faster as I let out of the gas. Thanks alot for any info!

Hi Bob and welcome to the site. A few simple questions first...

Is the car still stock? Have the IMRC's (Intake Manifold Runner Controls) been cleaned lately?

Yes the car is stock, only 86000 miles, owned by an older lady that lived on an island. She may very well never have come out of second gear. The car appears to have been well taken care of but I really don't know if the irmc has been cleaned, as i have just purchased the car. I sold my supercharged fox body convertible to my son, & this is my first cobra. I know alot about the 5.0 but very little about the 32 valve. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And Mr. Trout, why you gotta bust on my name? My wife picked that out for me.LOL

This is NOT CobraBob, it's cobra bob. Relax KT.

With 86K on the odo I'll bet you a case of cold beer the IMRC's are gummed up with carbon causing the issues you're experiencing. Search around, I'm sure there's a post with instructions or a link to instructions on how to clean them.
