i have a 93 4cyl 5sp car. my problem is in low rpm the engines seems to spit and sputter. when you rev it up it sputters and then will clear up above 3k rpm. also when its completely cold it has a hard time staying running and when i go to leave it will spit and sputter for awhile. it will also do it when im under a load such as pulling a hill. now the thing is today when i left work it started up idled a little funny then i took off up the road. with barely any hesitation it was about 93 degrees outside. so i feel like it is temperature related. maybe not. i just put a new maf on it and it didnt fix it. i really am lost on where to start so some help with this will be much appreciated. thanks everyone

the plugs and wires are fairly new. i dont know about the fuel filter. i also think that my temp sending unit is bad. becasue my temp gauge barely moves above the normal low mark. could that be a problem

I think the temp gauge is like that on most of our cars. I've had 3 fox body stangs that have had that same issue. Most likely not causing your problem either way. The typical things to check with rough running is the ignition control module and the coil packs. Those items are testable at your local auto parts store, but they have been known to test ok but still be bad. Neither are cheap or I'd suggest buying them just to see unless your parts store will agree to take them back if it wasn't the problem......

coil packs are $95 each and ICM's are $140 at my local advance.

i agree completely. most likely a bad coil or coils or a bad coil pack. i've had a bad coil pack that wasnt firing and the other fired on 3 until i got it heated up on the highway and then it hit on all 4. replaced both coil packs and the problem went away
