I just put a 90 GT motor in a 94 GT and I can not get any power out of it, the 94 motor had the same problem,
it will not even get out of its own way and is worse when it warms up. PLEASE HELP !!!
My wife wants to drive her car and she is making me crazy.
Any help would be very helpful. THANKS

ps:
The cats have been gutted, fuel pressure is 38-40lbs, coolant temp sensors are new, and the rearend and the brakes are not locked up, also MAF sensor has been cleaned.
starts good idles low about 500-600 in park, when it warms up it runs worse.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

What's up with the ignition components? New old, what's the deal. It sounds like something simple.

Take a very, very, close look at the HB. What you are describing is a spun balancer. On the engine side check to see and feel for any rubber protruding between the inner and outer hubs. Have you noticed any vibration? If it has spun it needs to be replaced like yesterday.

Please clarify, both motors had the same exact issue? I agree with the posts above about the balancer but both? Could be, check it out. Eliminate this area first since it's free. Let us know.

I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread yet, so have you pulled codes? The check engine light doesn't need to be illuminated for there to be a code stored.

The problem must be centered around the timing if the balancer is good and the above is true. The car should run with the SPOUT pulled and the timing should be around 10* and steady. Has the distributor been pulled and perhaps not repositioned correctly. The PIP (Hall Effect sensor) may be failing and may be sending a bad signal to the PCM. However, before pulling the distributor confirm that the battery to engine ground is solid with no corrosion at both ends. Bad grounds cause all sorts of unexplained issues.

Got that problem fixed with a new ignition system,
now just need to set the idle,
it idles at about 650-700 in park, way 2 low,
should be there in drive.
