NEED HELP WITH A BOTTOM END REBUILD

SORRY BOUT THE CAPS FELLAS BUT I AM IN CLASS AND WE HAVE TO USE THEM AT ALL TIMES...... ANYWAYS, JUST GOT A CALL FROM THE MACHINE SHOP THAT MY CRANK AND RODS ARE SHOT. USING A DIFFERENT BLOCK THAN WHAT THE ENGINE CAME WITH. (THE ONE FOR THE CRANK WAS ALREDY BORED .060).ANYWHO SHOP OWNER SAID THAT THE CRANK HAS ALREADY BEEN TURNED OUT AS FAR AS IT CAN GO SAFTELY. I DO NOT WANT TO GO FORGED SO CAST IS OK. WHERE CAN I GET A MORE ECONOMY MINDED CRANK, ROD AND PISTON KIT THAN THE ONE SUMMIT OFFERS?

have you tried regular auto parts stores such as autozone, napa, O'Reilly, etc?

The only other thing would be to get a used crank. The only way you could verify how much it's already been turned would be by actually seeing the rod and main bearings yourself; they say the overbore/underbore on them.

find a good engine in the junkyard. tear it open and inspect the bearings, if they are the factory bearings then the block is stock and the crank is unground.
