Wow, I havent posted here in MONTHS, but I come back in my time of need...

I think I have a suspension squeak in the rear, I hit all the spots I could find with WD40 a couple times, didnt stop. Then I though it might even be an exhaust hangar, so I did them, and it didnt stop.

The thing is, that I cant make it squeak by rocking the car, only by hitting a bump, even a small one slowly. I was rocking it by hand on both wheel wells and nothing. I even made sure my spare was tightly secured.

Anyone have any ideas where I should be looking?

I'm almost positive I read that it was chassis flex under the rear seats. Do some searching, I remember an old thread about how someone fixed it. Check on corral too because it may have been there.

Weird Squeak

I know the squeak you are talkin about and it bothers the hell out of me, but i recently found out how to fix it.There are also a lot of others with this same problem.Go to corral.net and go to the modular forums. It has something to deal with the stereo speaker rubbing the outer rear fenderwell.I NEVER would have found this if it werent for Corral.net

Here's the link to the corral.net thread:

http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=443264

They say it's a broken speaker/amp shelf mount weld that's creating the squeak/creak. I'm gonna check my '02 GT for the problem but mine has been making a sharp squeak that doesn't really sound like that could be the cause. Mine sounds like it is definately coming from underneath the car, like the rear suspension. It makes the squeak going over even the slightest bumps at any speed. Like cruising 55mph and going over expansion joints in an overpass or a small bump. In other word's, almost exactly as how skigazzi described his problem. The issue in the link above sounds like it's more of a chassis flex issue, whereas my problem really seems like suspension related. But what do I know, I'll give anything a try hoping that it will fix it.

If it's not the speaker deck issue, then it's probably just the rear control arm bushings.

$1

I'm bored, I'll go see if I can find this speaker deck whatever tab thingy. With my luck, it's probably buried behind tons on stuff and requires pulling out half of the interior anyway.

i had a weird squeak coming from under my car a few months ago. it sounded like it was coming from under the shifter somewhere, so i sprayed the tranny mount with wd40 and it went away. squeaks suck.
