Fox Need help with alternator relocation bracket

I have a 83 GLX with a 302, car had a complete serpentine belt with a/c, power steering, smog pump, alternator, water pump. I now only have a water pump and alternator, I purchased the Moroso alternator bracket kit and IT IS JUNK and the instructions suck there blurry photo copied pictures that look to be taken with the worst point and shoot camera they could get there hands on. So I bought a CVF racing kit, but the alternator sits back too far like 3 inches back. Am I missing something? Do I need different pulleys? In the picture is this a normal serpentine drive.

I have a similar alt. mounting kit on my 393w and it looks like the same size spacer mounted to the head as the one in your pic.
Also has 2 spacers coming off left side water pump bolts and turnbuckle style tensioner at the bottom, this is with a 3g alt.
Not sure how your getting the alt is coming up 3" short?
