i just got my nitto 555r's on, 315/35/17.......

i went somewhere deserted to break them in and get used to launching, but when i go to do the burnout.....i can't get the rear "left" tire to break loose.....

i rev up, pop the clutch and hold the break.....the right one takes off, but i can't get the left one going.....

any suggestions would be appreciated......

thanks

you might be having some issues with the rear end, more so that technique. sounds to me like some clutches are worn in the rear end

Why are you doing burnouts in your new DRs?

Yeah, it's gotta be a rear end issue.

Moser 31 spline axles and 4.10 gear?

i watched a guy destroy his stock rear end doing burnouts on DR's and his car did exactly what you say yours is doing before it went. i agree with scalder, build the damn thing up ASAP if you are going to keep doing that.

no, no, no.....the clutches in your rear end, not your actual clutch. it sounds like they are about shot

Agreed..that was the last thing mine ever did before it went snap. Your next launch could be your last. It's pretty much agreed that it's luck of the draw w the stock rear...some people haven't had any issues after hundreds of passes...then, there's me on my 3rd pass ever w the car and boom! Get an Eaton, DL or Auburn Pro...some 31 spline axles and you will probably be okay for a while.....OR JUST SPOOL IT!

Well, you will need new axles....31/33 spline...Moser, Strange...your choice...PLUS you will need to get a new differential....Eaton, Auburn....once again your choice..

While you are back there get a girdle and weld up the axles and torque boxes too!

It sounds like you broke your posi. Right tire fire is hilarious! I would suggest building the rear up before you break it and need a tow.

Hey 2003gt, this happened to me...and a tow from the track that's 40 miles away from home ain't cheap....plus peace of mind is worth a lot!
