Just finished a whole new install in my 97 V6 Mustang vert.
Ripped out all the speakers, amps, head unit and cd player.
Replaced with Kappa speakers, Kenwood head unit and 2 amps.
All RCA's were ran on the passenger side and power on the drivers.
Shortest possible ground on the amps (4 ga power and grounds).

My wife noticed it before I did.
There is a buzz from the rear speakers when I'm at low volume.
Isolating further, I have noticed when the radio is OFF, I still get the buzz.
Have not noticed buzz from the fronts.
The radio provides the remote for the amps, so I know the amps are not on.
I think my next step is to disconnect the rear speakers and see if the buzz is still there.
I have heard alternator whine and this is not it.

Any help will be appreciated.

How is the system setup? 1 amp for front, 1 for rear? Did you have a mach system or standard? Are your 2 new amps the same model?

Infinity reference 475A 4ch for the front and rears.
I had the Mach 460. All of it ripped out.
The sub amp is a Profile ap1000m mono.

Is the amp power light staying on when the deck is turned off? If you unplug the rca's from the amp does the buzz stop?

No, the amp lights are off.
Yes, The buzz stops when I unplug the RCA's at the input to the amp.
There is no buzz on the front speakers even when I swap the front and rears.

I'm starting to think there maybe an issue with the rear output of the amp.
Tomorrow I will swap the output of the amp and see if the buzz is in the fronts.
Am I making sense???

You are making perfect sense, that's why I was askin' all the questions, to eliminate components... You did bypass the amps under the rear deck right? ( It sounds like you did.) Let us know what you find.

I did not bypass because I ripped all 3 amp out.
I bought the amps from crutchfield, I'll give them a call if I find the amp is having an issue.
They're really good about swapping out components if they're faulty.

U can swap the front wires to the rears (at the amp) and if the front speakers start experiancing the same problem, good chanse it's the amp. Keep us posted!
