Hi,

I have 16x7 wheels with 215x55s on front of my 65 fastback. It has disc brakes. I dont have a problem with fender rubbing but when I go fast and if the car passes on a bumpy road and the car flexes/bulges, I think wheels or tyres (I am not sure)rub/hit somewhere there on front. It was not a problem when I had the 15 inch wheels. How can I correct this problem?

thanks in advance.

Well the tire diameter is OK at 25.3 inches, so it must be a back spacing problem. What's the wheel back spacing?

you are probably hitting the upper control arm...I have late model mach I wheels with 1" adapters and when I have the car jacked up and the wheels are hanging my wheel weights hit the uppers, so you with 16's, i'd say thats your problem...

I checked the AR website (My wheels are TTO2), it seems like they have 4 inch backspacing. By the way, I also have 620 lb 1 inch drop springs.

So what is your opinion on the solution?

my 17x7's are 4.5 back space... no rubbing anywhere. check your upper ball joints, my guess is that you are making contact there (you will be able to see bare metal where the rubbing is going on.) if thats the case, you could add a 3/8" spacer behind the wheel.

I tried to check the upper control arms but couldnt see any problem. But it will be for sure when I have the car on a lift.
