need help with fuel pump install

so the old pump is out and i am trying to put in the new pump but the problem is
the new bbk 255lph pump is to wide to fit in to the houseing for it. it will not slide all the way down and allow me to put the filter on it. does anybody have any tips?

I have never seen that issue before. although, i first installed a walbro 190 and then stepped up to a walbro 255. bbk should be the exact same size as well. i dont know though just thought i would share my experience

It's a not uncommon issue but I cant remember what the solution is. It's a mild bracket modification IIRC.

FIXED!
i snapped off the spot welds that hold the little cup on.
then used steel zip ties and 2 house clams to hold the new wider pump to the bracket.

ya, it's ghetto rigged but it's not going anywhere
