need help with mounting door speakers...

bought some infinity speakers from crutchfield but the bolt holes dont line up with those in the door...problem is when i use the universal mounting plate it pushes the door panel out to far...anybody use self tapping screws? just dont want them to loosen...any ideas?

I used self tappers on mine, so far so good.

Same here. I got Alpine Type S speakers, and their bracket didn't push anything out. Good Luck

maybe ill just do the self tappers then...its only on the two door speakers...rest of the speakers are fine...thanks for the help

Yep my original speakers were three screw, and the new ones were actually 6 3/4" and had four screws. But like I said this bracket was shallow enough to fit behind.

i used self tapers and ive had no problems at all, you should be fine bro.
