The passenger side window on my '89 recently stopped rolling up so I'm stuck with my window down. Today I took the door panel off to take a look in there and Im wondering if there is any way to get the window up manually without removing the window motor? I have no idea what Im doing so i really dont want to try and replace the motor. I dont care if i can use that window I just want to get it up for now so I can drive the car and i'll worry about fixing it later.

Plus I dont think the motor is bad anyway. It just randomly stopped working on a really hot day. If the motor were going bad, wouldnt it go out gradually? Like roll the window up slower and slower each time until it finally stops working completely?

Any help would be great since this is my only car at the time and it's raining here.

thanks

Yeah I checked the fuses and they're fine, plus the other window still works so I think its a problem just with the passenger's side. I've tried to carefully pull, push, crank, etc. the window up but I cant get it to move. Any other ideas out there? Im kinda stuck here.

The motor is pretty hard to move manually, if at all. You will need to unscrew the motor from the regulator and remove it to raise the window. It is held in by 3 small screws. Then reinstall the motor to keep the window up.

Good luck!
