Okay everyone, need some help with this one. Having a hard time finding someone who makes a rear seat delete kit for a 88 lx notchback. Anyone know of one? Or has anyone made there own? How did you do it and if so do you have some pictures to share?

If that doesn't work I am sure I could buy a sheet of plywood or two and build my own. But where in the heck can I buy bulk car carpet? I am also going to replace the carpet on the deck just under the rear window that has the third brake light on it. That should be fun.

If anyone has any advice on how to build one, feel free to speak up.

Thanks,
Ben

Thanks, I will do more research tomorrow after I get off work.

Guess what I am doing tomorrow? Setting up a crane that is going to work with a demo company to implode the Trojan plant. Going to be cool.

I made my own rear seat delete out of pegboard and carpet from autozone. Obviously, pegboard is lighter than plywood, so this should suit your needs for weight savings pretty well. I cut the pieces to replace the rear seats, as well as allow me to hinge the bottom piece up. This way, I can store stuff under the old seat cushion area. I think my total investment was about $20. I'll try to post pics.

Autozone black carpet kit: $10
Glue: $4
Pegboard $7

What I did was got some 1/8" fiber board (something like pegboard) make your templates out of cardboard then just trace and cut it out. I went to lowe’s for the carpet. For the bottom piece I made it follow the contour of the floor. I did that so I didn’t have to build up the sides in order to make it level.
