OK! pretty sure my throw-out bearing is going. makes a sqeaky/whining noise, but goes away when you tap clutch. any idea what that could be? i had a whole new cluch put in from ford about 20k ago plus a new throw-out bearing about 8-10k ago. luckily, all work has been covered under an extended warranty, but the techs were reluctant to replace throw-out bearing after new clutch was put in. had to bring it in for service, let them keep car for a week only to realize car was still making noise. totally frustrated bring car back and they replace throw-out. first time they said rack pins needed to be replaced and that was causing noise...obviously not! anyhow, noise is back! still have 1 year of warranty left, but skeptical about bringing back for service...since they can't seem to fix permanently.

you can have an idler with a bearing going out....will squeak/humm. sounds like it goes away with gas, but you just quit hearing it so much.
most likely a TOB though.
