Need help with vortech issue

I have a vortech s trim @ 16 psi and I just added a paxton air to air intercooler. When I accelerate the car chokes and the blower surges. It happens when I let off the gas too. Is this because I need a Vortech mini race bypass valve? Thanks

if you have a stock bypass, you really need to upgrade it. also check for any vacuum leaks. Did you get a new tune also?

If you are running the stock bypass that comes with the kit,its only good till 10 psi at the most...I have the mini race bypass and it works great, I was not getting a surge but rather popping off my disharge tube when shutting down the boost,,and that was only at 10 psi..I did not have the problem you were having.

i you don't upgrade and you truly have compressor surge, you are in danger of destroying the blower. there are alternatives to a new bypass besides shelling out the big bucks on the vortech unit. you can run two valves, but it won't look as good.

at what rpm does it choke at, and by choke do you mean buck?

The car idles fine and is ok at WOT but as soon you give it any throttle like 1200 to 1500 the car chokes and pops. sometimes you can get past the choke but other times it just pops
