I have a 91 GT that i just acquired through a trade. It has a ford racing block, gt-40 heads, E-303 cam, 1.6 rockers. everything in the motor is new and only has about 7k since the rebuild. Well the problem is it will not rev past 4900 rpm. It starts sputtering and missing almost like a rev limiter. It is not showing any codes and has new O2 sensors because it was running lean(code 91) but that is fixed, i think. The car runs strong, but it won't rev like its supposed to. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!! Thanks, Richard.

Richard, do you know the pedigree on the plugs, TFI, coil and other ignition components? Have you checked small things like ensuring the plug gap isnt too large?

Good luck.

The plugs are motorcraft and they are gapped to 0.054 in. They might be gapped to large since it has different heads? I am about to go purchase new TFI and see if that helps. I replaced the coil with an MSD blaster. This thing is driving me crazy!
