Does anyone know where to get some OEM style A-arms for a decent price? I need new ball joints but they say you can't replace them on the A-arm. Weird thing is that they sell the ball joints and bushings for them. I really need help. Has anyone attempted to change the ball joints? Want to stay mostly stock, or should I say avoid paying a lot of money on a front suspension kit.

This is one of those topics where you'll here a LOT of stuff. Some is true, some isn't. Like in many cases, it all comes down to this real-life thing called "tolerances". :)

The good news: Get MOOG ball joints! They are specially designed to be wider and tapered so that they will fit in the stock FCAs. You can reliably replace the ball joints once! Many people can replace the ball joints, 2+ times. However, many people will have FCA's that will not firmly hold a second replacement ball joint.

Also, any ball joint other than MOOG means that it may or may not fit firmly in an FCA even if it's the first replacement. The cheap *ss ball joints have poor tolerances. So, who the *** knows if they'll fit or not.

Last, you want to press the old ball joints out. If the old ball joints are banged out, then the hole for the ball joint may be distorted.

IMHO, it's MUCH easier to replace the ball joints than replacing the FCAs.

Also, someone that is a very good welder, they can also put spot welds on the ball joints if someone is really worried about the new ball joints being loose. For some people that use the Steeda X2 ball joints (for lowered cars), that's what they have to do.

Good Luck!
