Ok guys, i just graduated college and long story short i came across some money.

Anyway I want to finally build my car into what ive been dreaming. I'd like to have right around 450-500hp.

My question is, what would it take to do this as far as safety and the block are concerned. Would it be best to buy a new block and build up from there or would it be easier just to replace my motor with forged parts and build it from there?

What is this going to take?

I would order a short block from a company that is experienced such as MMR or VT engines. The MMR900 is under 3 grand, and can handle all the power you will ever want.

so assuming i bought a shortblock, what would i need assuming i transfer over all the useable parts? Cams, heads, intake, motor mounts, headers....

As far as parts? Nothing really. The PS, AC, and all the accessories will bolt onto a MMR short block no problem. You can use your stock heads. You will need new head bolts though, because the stockers cant be reused. Some ARP bolts would be nice.

Well I talked to the guys at PSI motorsports in houston (they do mostly mustangs)

Anyway they want 6500 to build me a forged motor using a new block with custom blower cams and ported heads. That includes the install. After that I buy a blower and get it tuned and hopefully ill achieve my target 500rwhp...

One last queston, Lets assume I get 500hp out of it, what kind of clutch should i get?

Ive heard good and bad thigns about spec, ive heard decent things about ram clutches and zoom, there so many different brands i dont know where to start
