I have a 74 shortblock 351 Windsor, anybody know what the rod lengths and stroke and all that good stuff is? (pretty sure stroke is 3.5 tho)

I need to replace the high compression pistons in it now with pump gas friendly ones, since different years have different deck heights it will matter what year you have to determine the right compression ratio when looking for the right pistons....right? and of course the HG, cc, etc...

The 9.480 deck Windsors were only manufactured for two years (69-70) so it's usually a safe bet to assume the 9.503 version. Which, in your case is true. Bore: 4.00, Stroke: 3.500, Main Journal Dia.: 3.000, Rod Length: 5.956.

The compression ratio can be determined by dividing the Net Displacement Volume by the Combustion Chamber Volume. Or in other words, NDV = Cylinder Displacement Vol. + CCV; CCV = Deck Clearance Vol. + Head Gasket Vol. + Head Chamber Vol. + Piston Dish Vol.
