I'm starting to get tired of the soft suspension that came stock on my GT. And, my left front shock has become louder then my exhaust. So...I'm wondering if they're any shock/spring combos out there that work well on a vert. I need somewhat of a stiff suspension because I will be road racing on the track a few times a year with some bmw's, and I don't want to fall to far behind in the corners. I also don't want to spend a ton of money on this because I am only a student with a part-time job

Define a ton of money. eibach springs are like 220, actually most springs are around the same amount. Shocks and struts are a bigger decision. I am getting ready to put some H&R ss springs, illumina struts, on my cobra. It is around 600 for those. Steeda will tell you not to drop your stang too much. only like 1/2 inch, maybe an inch. If you want adjustable struts your gonna pay more than non adjustables. Coilovers would be sweet but I hear the swap is rather pricey. There are several companies that make spring strut combos. good luck

get some h&r race springs and some bilstiens. get better subframes than stock as well. full lenghth weld in (I am liking the global west). for optimum handling don't go more than 1 inch drop on the springs. I did because I hate the 4x4 look but it is not optimum.

I would steer clear of coil overs unless you have deep pockets and really no how to tune them correctly. most people don't. ajustabilty is nice if you know what your doing but if you are a novice it will proably hurt you.

thanks for your input guys....I looked into the h&r race springs and they look promising. I also looked into the bilsteins, but at $170 each for the fronts, I might have to look into some other brands first. will the mach 1 shocks work with the race springs? Or will the springs put too much stress on them.

look on ebay bro. way better pricing. got a full set up bilstiens for $480shipped. not the cheapest but better than the prices you are quoting.

bilstiens $480
koni red's $550
tokico Ill $450

if you are going to the "track" I would stear clear of the cheapest options. mach 1 stuff is decent but deffinatle not the best for autocross.
