Ok, I know we have all gone over this before. But I would like some fresh opinions. I have already spoken to JMS and it seems from the people on this forum using their stuff it seems to be tried and true. However, I have found a local shop (Finish Line Performance) that will do a dyno tune ofr me with a Diablo Chip. Now I think that they could do a better job since no two cars are alike they can see everything thats going on on the dyno. Also, i know they use diablo chips (dunno if this is a good or bad thing..so gimme you opinions on their chips). Oh, and the price difference is about 150 bux, but after the JMS chip if I went and mad a pair of dyno passes it would cost about the same.

JMS is about $400 bux.

FLP is about $550 but this includes before and after dyno numbers (not to mention tuning on the dyno).

So just gimme some opoinions on which I should go with....Thanks Guyz.

My car runs perfect with the JMS chip. They do plenty of H/C/I 5L's to know pretty much what they're doing. I bought it because at the time I was broker and needed my car to run right. If I would have had the money I would have gone with a PMS or Tweecer.

Chips can be your worst nightmare or your best investment. The shop I had try a chip for mine turned out horrible. The chip is sitting in my room collecting dust. F that, I tune it myself now! I would have a local place do it IF they can do a good job. If it gets messed up, their local so you can have them fix it. My car runs way better now than it ever did w/ my waste of money chip. I hope that shop burns down and everyone inside dies ;) I use a pro m remote optimizer to tune now.

Grn92lx, how much did that pro m component set you back? i am about to purchase a tweecer due to its great results on stangnet, but before i do i would like to know about about what you are using to tune. my 95 hates my e-cam but i dont have the money to put in a better suited cam so i have to find a way to tune to it or suffer and stall at redlights

I bought it used for $85 shipped. You cant compare it to a tweecer, thr tweecer is a real tuning device. The optimizer just scales ther maf for idle and wot voltage and changing the voltage can richen or lean the car out. It fixed my surging idle I had and im using a 24lb pro m maf with 30lb injectors. It allows you to fine tune that to get it to work. I assume you have a bolt on car and a cam? I dont think a tweecer is necessary, but if you know what your doing, its certainly beter than what I have.

I tried a local shop that is very, very good and they couldn't get my car to run right and had the car for 3 months last year. All I kept hearing was you can't get a 94/95 to run right with a cam. You'll have to live with it. Blah, blah, blah..... I was out the money for the chip and was P*ssed.

I then called JMS and sent them my autologic chip. they sent it back to me and the car ran great. To a tune of 12.9 @105 for a 3,700 lb. vert.

Now, I have the blower and sent the chip back for a reburn with JMS, and the car runs perfect. I haven't been to the dyno or the track, but I am very happy.

What I'm trying to say is....... GO JMS OR GO HOME !!!!!! They are the best hands down.

This shop has one guy tuning their cars and I spoke directly to him. He said it would take him a day or two to tune it and it would be $550 bux. He also says that if there are any problems just come back and well take care of it. However before I agree, I will make sure I can return the chip if I'm not happy with it.

if you go chip go JMS. I have one and it works well. considering my finances I will do my mod one at a time and would like to cue the computer in when I do. I don't want to reburn the chip every time.

I'm going to be the devil's advocate here because I have had a terriblt experience with JMS. Regardless of if their chip ever makes my car run well (it hasn't yet), I will never buy anything from them ever again because their customer service has been terrible. I understand that mistakes happen and a custom chip may need a retune (mine did), but these people haven't ever returned a phone call in the 4 months that I have dealt with them. Every time I have talked to someone has been after I have called about 50 times.

I reaize this appears to be an isolated incident and that everyone else has had good experience with them, but I thought I would share my experience anyway.
