Need opinions! Checked out a '95 today. Was it a GTS??? (PICS)

Guy is the 2nd owner, said his brother was the original owner & that the car was never repainted & all original body, but it did have the solid color rear bumper-not like my '94's two toned bumper that had the black lower trim! Should'nt it have the black trim also? Bright blue, manual windows & locks, immaculate cloth grey interior w/manual seats. Had a GT wing & cold A/C though. Also had some cheap looking fog lights that didn't look factory. Been garaged, paint was very shiny still, but had a big scrape on the rear bumper, dings, & cracked front signal light. I saw all the VIN# stickers on all panels, but the rear bumper. Where does Ford normally stick that one? Also, is there anyway to tell if she was a GTS? Here's the link & CARFAX below. $4000. What yall think?

not good enough pics....does the rear bumper say mustang or mustang gt?? with the wing on it i would almost guess that it is a gt or someone added a wing? but then they would have sprayed it and maybe when they got the paint they had enough to spray the black at the bottom of the bumper?? if you can get better pics it would help...what emblems are on the front fenders? maybe a pic of the seats....gts had standard seats where gt's had sport seats....so if you can answer any of these questions or get me better pics i can help you along the way....but dont just asume its a gt if it has a gt bumper looks for everything..

well i keep looking at the pics it looks to be sport seats...that leads me to believe gt and the wing of corse if its factory....but the manual windows make me believe gts....?? please answer any of the questions you can from me previous post

Its a GTS. Those are the v6 seats. The spoiler did not come standard on a GTS but was still optional. As for the rear bumper, the GTS' did have the GT bumper with the bottom portion blacked-out. They probably just didn't bother when the car was re-painted. Lastly, the GTS did not come with factory fogs, so the indication that cheapo aftermarket fogs were added is another tell-tale sign of a GTS.

If you're going to check-out this car yourself, pop the hood and see if there is an ABS unit on the passenger side of the engine bay. GTS' did not come with ABS and could not be added as an option.

this seller sounds kinda shady... he tells you it was never painted....and you see overspray on the tailpipes!!!! and hes claiming its a gt.....i dont know if i would want to deal with this guy...who knows what else hes lying about

every option a gt had, you could get on the gts if i remember correctly.

bottom line, as previously stated:

ABS= GT

NO ABS= GTS

i dont know what trav_19 was talking about when he asked about what the bumper said and what emblems were on fenders. GT/GTS both said mustang GT on the bumper, and they both had the GT emblems.

You wouldnt have guessed by looking at the exterior of mine that it was a GTS, i had a wing that was exactly like an original, and i had factory fog lights as well. Oh, and i also had the sport seats...other than all that crap, i still just had crank windows and manual locks.

huh didn't know that about the bumper and fender emblems?? i could have sworn my buddies old car had the horses and just mustang on the back ...well thats stupid what the hell is the point of a gts then?? if its all decked out with gt and the only thing you get is manual windows and locks and gay seats??? ill stick with my gt lol?

lol nothing much really. If one ordered a bare-bones GTS with no options on it, there would be a bit of a weight savings, but not that much IMO.

Trav, if your buddy's car only had the pony emblems and "Mustang" rear bumper, with a 5.0L, I'd be inclined to think it had a v6-to-v8 swap done to it. On the exterior, as previously stated, a GTS is IDENTICAL to a GT if a spoiler and fogs were ordered as options.

well i did have a buddies who had a conversion stang but he wrapped it around a tree lol...couldn't keep his foot off the pedal...lol....but maybe i was getting his car confused with my other friends old ride?? well to me a gts is kinda....worthless lol i always made the assumption the gtS was for sleeper...but if its running gt emblems and and bumper...thats not very sleeperish...what would you tell the guy next to you at the light oh no this isint a gt look i got manual windows and v6 seats??? hmmmm...i though the whole idea of a sleeper was to confuse people when you pulled up?

The "S" stands for "stripped", thats all. Nothing really special. They're not more valuable than a regular GT either, in fact, if you look at blue book values, GTS' are worth slightly less than a GT. The only added "sleeper-ness" to a GTS is it looks like a heavy GT from the outside, but in reality, it weighs maybe 30 pounds less. Them therr Haunduh's won't know what spanked 'em!!!1one!

im pretty sure the S didn't stand for sleeper lol. i just personally considered it stood for 'stripped'. either way, yeah, they look identical. i dont know what the point is, but all i DO know is that a GTS didn't have ABS!

i never told people 'hey man i have a gtS...' no, i just said i have a gt. big deal right? i would have much rather had freakin power windows and leather seats but that's just me.

however, givin the oportunity, i will find another GTS to buy, as they are a lot harder to find. mine was 1 of 344 Canary Yellow's ;)
