im wanting to get more hp to my car but with almost 400 rwhp on stock internals i was thinking the next step should be rebuilding the block with better internals. i dont want to spend a whole lot on the internals because i also want to do longtube headers and different mid pipe. im looking to try and get 550 rwhp with my setup with new internals. any suggestions would help me with my decision

I would buy a vt engines or modular powerhouse shortblock. Any pictures of your engine?

You can pick up a VT SR Shortblock for @2499 that will handle that HP range.

*edit* meant SR not Sportsmen

Where can you get the sportsmen block for that cheap?

I see the stock replacement block for that much.

Stock replacement is good for 500HP.

I'd imagine anyone with the idea of a fairly simple power system could do well to save the money and go with the SR block. Seems like a very good deal to me.
