I have a 88 Mustang with a AGR power steering pump and rack. Everything was good until I modified the high pressure line to fit a D1SC Blower into the car.
I modified the high pressure side by capping the end of the high pressure fitting on the ps pump and then tapping a fitting for the line out the bottom of the fitting. Please see the pictures. I believe the rack is over fed by the pump and the steering is sketchy acting like a low effort rack. I am aware of cutting the piston spring to get more effort in the rack.
My question is can I put a reducer in the high pressure line from the exit of the pump going to the rack to reduce the diameter of the line to reduce the amount of fluid going into the rack?.
Thank you in advance for reading this and any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, James.

Don't know about a reduced line but what about under driving the pump itself? You can swap pullies. Just my two cents hope you get it worked out.

I would have to install a larger PS pump pulley and I only have a 1/4" between the pulley and the blower bracket. If I swapped the crank pulley then I would under drive the other accessories.

They do make a line pressure reducer for the Chevy pumps that bolt right on
so I am assuming you can reduce the line pressure at the high pressure side of the pump such as in this pic.
I just need someone familiar with power steering pumps to give me a opinion.
