Need Some Advice On New 5.0

So I have this new GT 5.0 and I'm getting a little driving time in on it trying to feel it out. It runs very good but I'm noticing that it surges when you feather the throttle just to maintain what ever speed you are at. In 5th gear at 60 or in 3rd at 40. if you just hold the throttle to maintain speed it wants to buck a little, not like it loaded down but if you add a little gas its ok. It has a pretty strong cam in it could this be cause by it? Maybe timing I haven't checked it but could timing cause it ?
The info I received when I purchased the car was the engine has been bored .030, x303 cam. gt40 heads, edelbrock intake w/ 70 mm TB, no info on head work or valve train. The o2 sensors have been removed. The engine runs strong but has this annoying studder or surging.
any body ever experience this ?
