I want to start with a intake elbow and was wondering if anyone makes one that is chrome or polished aluminum that would mate up with my C&L 80mm mass air. Thanks

I know MAC's Cold Air is chrome or polished, not sure which but it is really shiny. Don't know if it will mate with your 80mm mass air.

Accufab makes a polished intake elbow, but I guess you are referring to an air intake tube. The elbow (or what some call the upper plenum) is the 'pipe' that bends 90 degrees from the throttle body down into the manifold.
C&L makes an aluminum pipe, but it's not polished. But with some serious elbow grease, it could be (I may polish mine this summer). See my 2002 engine below:

I have the Accufab Plenum as well, plus a steeda intake. Its a little bling but not too much.

That's actually a MAC "Racer's Choice" (yeah right, which racers?Rocketman said:I noticed in this months MM&FF magazine that C&L is now offering their elbow (upper intake) in a polished version.
Page 162 in MM&FF, $139.50 plain or $179.50 polished.

What's that piece called which I circled... I don't like the way my Filter "box" looks
The hood had been removed and was at the body shop because I f'ed it up. In a 'detailing frenzy', I raised the hood with the wiper blades up - caused a nice scrape about 2 inches long on the back edge of the hood.
The piece circled is the heat shield from the C&L MAF kit. It's just plastic and is held in place with one screw in the fender (the original one for the air box) and tension on the MAF. You can easily make one yourself out of aluminum sheet - visit you local hobby store. You could also use SS, but it might me tough to bend. I saw a nice polished aluminum one at a local show recently, that looked as good as anything you could buy. I'll give you measurements and angles and pics if you want - just PM me.
I guess I'm looking for a polished piece that goes from the upper intake to the air meter. I don't want it to be cold air, I would like to see the air filter.

How exactly do you self-polish something to make it look shiny? No one sells polished billet grille with the pony cut-out, so is it possible to polish the brushed one? If so, how?

Probably not without risking f'ing it up good. If it's brushed, it likely has also been sprayed with a protective coating which would have to be removed first. Polishing aluminum is easy, in theory, hard to do because of the labor involved. Just sand with progressively finer sandpaper, then finish with a metal polish. It will shine like chrome.Apollo Creed said:How exactly do you self-polish something to make it look shiny?
