I am restoring my 68 Mustang Convertible. I need to paint the whole car. The car needs quite a bit of body work. Should I just replace all the fenders, panels, etc. or sand down the original parts. I would like to keep the car as original as possible. What is the best way to strip and do this. Thanx for any help.

It's a judgment call. It's worth salvaging the original sheet metal if you can -- it fits better and is better for the value of the car. There's only so much you can do sometimes though. I'd rather have a new repro or, preferably, repro from original Ford tooling body panel than an original that's filled with Bondo. Get a good body shop and see what they say. It's impossible to say much more without good pictures or a more detailed description.
