I have a 95 GT that I bought not to long ago, I was going to change the intake to a GT-40 and when I got the intake off the lifter valley is sludged up pretty well. I guess the guy hadn't been changing the oil like it was supposed to or at all from the way it looks. Can I spray down everything with brake cleaner, or engine degreaser, and flush it all into the oil pan and then change the oil with some fresh Mobil One?

i would use diesel fuel or gunk motor flush and a brush, and flush it all into the oil pan and then change the oil with some fresh Mobil One and a new filter.

Personally I would scrap most of it off with out letting it drop to the bottom as much as possible. It would suck to end up gloging you pick-up screen on your oil pump and lose pressure. You may also want to remove your valve covers and clean them out as well (chances are it's sludged there too). What I would do is drain a quart of oil out (after scraping the crap out) run some CD2 Maxx oil detergent for as long as the bottle says. After that do an oil change every 2 thousand miles or every 2 months for the next 6 months (using the CD2 maxx evey 3rd change). After your last CD2 Maxx treatment run 4 quarts of oil and 1 quart of Marvel Mystery oil.

I bought 2 bottles of CD2 Maxx and a bottle of Gunk Motor Flush and 12 bottles of Motorcraft 5w-30 and 2 Motorcraft filters, hopefully all that will get it cleaned pretty well, I am also going to scrape out as much as I can before I use that stuff, so maybe this should get it, I hate when someone doesn't take care of something and then play it off like they had the whole time. Thanks for the help guys....

afte ryou go trhough that motorcraft stuff, I would switch over to mobil 1 oil. I just had my car torn down and was very amazed how clean it was. no sludge at all. go with the mobil drive clean that has extra detegents. change it every 1500 for the first couple of changes then every 3000. I thought mobil was just another oil but after looking at motors that have had mobil 1 vs no mobil 1, there is a difference. I swear by the stuff
