So guys I bought this 89 lx about a month ago and fixed the major rear main leak and started driving it. N\A carbd 347 vic jr heads\intake plugs gapped at .045 .The problem is that the car falls flat on its face around 5 grand. Pulls real good until then but then it breaks up and won't rev any higher. I had an issue with the digital 6al msd box with the rev limiter. It was set to 9200 when I got the car so I dialed it back to 6200, at that point the car wouldn't rev past 3200 rpm. So I set it back to 9200 and noticed it not pulling over 5k. After all was said and done I set the dials on the limiter at 0-0 to disable the limiter and it still won't go past 5 grand. The box is wired to the starter solenoid because the battery is in the trunk. Also the car is carb swapped with a Mallory mechanical dizzy. I know it could be fuel issues as well but I plan on testing FP this week. Was just leaning towards the box due to the afore mentioned rev limiter issue. Car ran mid 11's before I got it on this same setup so I Dont think its valve springs. Thanks for any help guys.
