I went to the track yesterday and while I have been there before it was my first time with teh stang. I basically ran consisten 15's flat..my best was a 14.9. My best time slip

Temp: 77
Humidity: 85

60': 2.260
330: 6.383
1/8: 9.706
mph: 73.63
1000: 12.548
1/4: 14.914
mph 95.59

now i think my 60' aint too bad..howver my 1/8 time & mph stinks..I launch between 2000 and 3000 varying ..any higher than that and I spin too much...the more i spun though the better my 60' was...also I shifted at around 5500 at first few runs but by that run 6000...I dont get why my 1/8 is slow witha decent 60' I feell like I am shifting very fast..

I have seen alot of guys in STL run 14.8's-14.9's in newer gt's. Is it an auto or 5 speed? If its an auto just work on those launchs and keep the pedal to the floor. I have a auto and my best is a 14.4.

I dunno, you are running almost identical to me and I am at 3600 ft elevation. My times were before the gears. You get a better 60ft than I do. Do you power shift? Or just normal, aggresive shifting?

Here are my times from Roswell @3600 Ft elev.

60 ft 2.385
1/8th 9.741
mph 74.619
1/4 14.898
mph 94.873

It might be your shifting, at a lower altitude you should be pulling harder than me on top end.

I've got an auto and its running a consistent 14.6@96 mph. I was running 15.0 the first couple times I ran it but then dropped to 14.6 I'm waiting for it to cool down and I'm gonna take it back down there and run her again before I get the giggle juice and slicks

Im shifting aggressively and I do not think I am a slow shifter...Ihave tried both shifting at 5500 and 6000 from 1stto 2nd and 2nd to third and i ride out 3rd thru the finish...I don't get it my 60' times are better than these guys for ex

its seems when I get to 330 and 1/8 my times suffer could I be spinning too much and getting a decent 60' but affecting the times later on?

First off all, you need to be powershifting to get better times. Second of all, your tach might be off and you might have to shift higher than 6000RPMs. Third of all, you need to get your car dynoed to see exactly what RPM your peak TQ is at and find out if your car is making the power it should be making. Once you find out where your peak tq is at, you need to practice your shifting so you land at your peak tq after shifting. For instance, if you shift at 5500RPMs from 1st to 2nd, and your tach lands at 3800RPMs that is too low. Typically, your peak tq will be at 4100RPMs or thereabouts. So you know you need to shift at a higher RPM or faster. Good luck. It just takes practice. Also, if you notice that your 60's get better as you spin your tires more, then spin your tires more until you are happy with your 60's. It just takes practice.

Oh great. Now people think 03/04 Cobra's run 15-second 1/4-miles. Please tell me you don't have Cobra badges.

Well it just sound like you need practice. the first time at the track my best was a 14.9 but i got her down to a 14.223 stock and now its down to 14.013 with just pulleys. lower your rear tires to 25 and that should help on your launches. Also the best 60' i have ever cut was 2.195. Good luck with the times.
