I had just gotten of the interstate and came to a stop light and the car started to shake its a** off. I gave it a lil gas a figured it was a hiccup. Not the case, its shaking its a** off ang generally running poor. I poped the old hood and the plate behind my crank pully is not atatched and is just spinning. What is this plate? Is this the problem? How can i fix it? It makes me wanna cry to go start it up

Sounds like the balancer gave up. Do NOT run the engine any more than you have to with a broken balancer, or you will be rebuilding the bottom end. Stock replacement balancers are cheap, and as long as you're mostly stock they are fine.

No, the stock balancer should be trivial (some of the aftermarket ones can be a real PITA). You'll just have to yank the serpentine belt, unbolt the crank pully, and remove the balancer bolt (pretty big bolt, like 7/8 or 15/16 if I remember correctly). The stock balancer should easily slide right off, and same with the install of the new one.
