Alright, now I'm finally converting completely to ford from my stupid Hemi. Lookin at buyin a mod mustang. The problem is choosing between the 96-98 or 99-04 model. Basically what i need to know is how they react to high mileage and mods. Any rants about either? Thanks for the help in advance.

99-04 have more hp stock than the 96-98's cuz of the power improved (PI) heads. I like the look of the 99-04s better than the 96-98s too. My pony's got 116k on it, and I don't have any mods. As far as I know, the car hasn't had any major mechanical problems, the previous owner took really good care of it. I wouldn't make any major mods to the car as it is now, I've heard of guys pulling the motor at 70k because that was a lot of miles. Good luck.

The reason i ask is because im looking at a 98 5-speed gt with 110K on the clock. I didnt know what would happen when i start adding stuff. I dont want the motor to grenade on me. It highway miles but still..... any thoughts?

I think it all depends on how the previous owner took care of it and how it was broken in. If there are any, look at its maintainence records. These motors are capable of 250k+ miles because I've seen/read about taxis and police cars that old.
