Okay I am on my way home from a 1200 mile trip and the cobra started acting up. I made it up tp Philly last week no problem from Florida but today I left to head back home and about 200 miles in to the trip the car would start bucking and surging at anything past half throttle. It got worse as the gas level decreased and was almost stalling at idle. I almost called AAA but decided to throw some more fuel in it and it helped the problem a little. I assume the problem is the fuel pump but would be open to any other suggestions. I just picked up the car two weeks ago, so I haven't looked in to all the specks yet. I am told that the 99's started a returnless fuel system, could this be the problem? If the fuel pump must be replaced, is it a problem to upgrade the 99's because of this system? Sorry for the long post but I am in South Carolina (about 600 miles from home) and need to be able to get my wife and 4 month old son home tommorrow. Thanks for any help you guys can give.
