Need some wire locating help

I am trying to direct wire my radar detector so that I don't have to plug it into the cig lighter but I am in need of help finding a wire to T-tap into. It needs to be something like an ignition wire under the dash. I will also need to ground it but that is an easy task. I just don't want to get the wrong wire. Thanks.

Tap off of the hot wire to the cig lighter...

Tap off the cigarette lighter and it will be on all the time.

I tapped mine off the convertible top harness under the center console. Turns on and off with the key in the "on" position. Ground was sourced from one of the dust boot bolts above the trans.

That's what I was thinking. I am going to hook it up to the power on the headunit and go from there. I was told it was enough power to support both units and it will turn off with the car, the cig lighter would be ok but there is better options I think.
