need surround sound hook-up help!

so last week i bought this system:

got it all hooked up and it works great, sounds good. my question is, how do i get my TV to play in surround sound through the aftermarket speakers? and how do i play my PS2 in surround sound also? i have no experience wiring things up, so i dont know all the lingo either. thanks in advance!

well from the descrip. it sounds like only dvd's thru 5.1. it has only audio in back, no fiber optic, or hdmi..?? so what you got is 5.1 with dvd, and fake 5.1 from tv (most show dont broadcast in 5.1 on tv anyway) it should have a simulated 5.1 setting for tv. if all you have in the back is the red/white input for sound then you got screwed..

you have to find out what you plugged your audio jacks into like video 1 or video 2 or something like that. Then you have to turn it to that setting. There should be a button to select what output like suround, stereo, or classic or something like that. I dont have that system but I have set up many surround sound systems and they are all pretty much the same. Hope this helped.
