I put a weber carb and a new allumanum intake and i cant figure out how to hook the throttle linkage and the kickdown up, i can post pics tomarrow but if any one knows what im dealing with and know what to do to fix it that will help ALOT.

Need More Info

What Motor and Trans?

The thottle linkage should not be a big deal, but I see from the pic, that you were able to get the kickdown but not the throttle. IF you can not make the stock linkages work you may need to go with something like the Lokar cables.

I have a 351c with FMX trans in a 72 mustang. It was a 2bbl car that was converted to 4bbl. My stock throttle worked fine but I had to use the Lokar Kickdown Cable.

got the linkage connected, dumped water in the radiator, and heard leaking water, took it apart, and i beleave the intake is bad...i paid 75 bucks for it and it was a private sale so i dont think the guy will take it back...

If you really want to use that intake you could clean up the affected area and JB weld it (or use its equivalent.) Awesome stuff when applied properly--I even got away with using it on a corroded water passage next to the combustion chamber of an old Abarth aluminum head.

That water passage IMO doesnt look bad enough to be unusable. Did you put a thin layer of RTV around them and they still leaked?

If you cant get them to seal as-is, you could try filling it with JB like dennis said. Then just lay a good flat file across it to flatten everything out.

ive been told not to trust that stuff, becides i think im just gonna break down and get a new RPM manifold, the old one was off of an 80's H.O. engine that the guy used in his race car. any advice on who to go through to get this? (dont want used, im done with the buying used thing...to much crap)

I see what is wrong with the throttle linkage....you hooked the thick metal bar directly to the carb. there is supposed to be a thin bar that connects the thick one (directly part of the throttle pedal) to the carb.
