NEED to Be FASTER! help!

Shift kit....good idea or no? i race allot, and i was thinking about how i could go fater, quicker. which i actually need a faster top-speed.....85 just dosen't feed my hunger for speed. what should i do? just keep my 2.3 the way it is and just buy a 5.0 and then mod it out? cuz i like driving the 2.3 because better gas mileage...but i want to smoke people from start to finish. OYE!
i love my 2.3's looks, it's a VERY clean under the hood, and the paintjob wasnt cheep. and i love the interior....Red......if only i had another chassie that looked exactly like my 2.3's i would totally drop a 302 in it or bigger....but the way gas is now...*sigh*

um.....you race on that with success? i'd like to go where you live, if your 4banger has a chance to beat people.

Either buy a TC block and build it slowly, or a 302 and build it slowly...hell buy any thing and build it slowly, and it will be faster. If you wish to race, then dont complain about gas, it will and is going to get much much worse....

Shift kit is a bad idea (if you can even find one). Don't waste your money. If you like to work on cars, a turbo 2.3 motor with a 5-speed is your best bet. Otherwise, save the paychecks and drop it on a 4.6/5.0 or whatever you choose.
