Need to find the right damper/balancer

Hi all. Alright so I'm trying to time my engine but the timing marks are off a whole 2 inches from where they should be. So I guess what I think my options are would be to either get a new one or simply get a timing tape. Do you think my damper slipped? I've heard of them slipping and although I haven't dropped it it is 43 years old. Is it a problem with the damper, is it off-balance? The car will run and sounds fine but I just can't time it right since there are no marks. The engine is a 347 roller HO with a 28oz balance. I have been using the stock 289 balancer which is 28oz right? What balancer would you recommend?

I don't think I feel any vibration from it unless it's very minor. I think Ill go ahead and put some timing tape on it and time it the best I can. By getting a heavier balancer it will keep the 28oz balance right?

Alright I got it timed. I just got a different timing light with an advance. It's timed at 35 on the light and shows 0 on the balancer. Thanks for your help
