Need Tokico/KYB strut opinions (buying today)

Who has first hand experience with the blue tokico versus the cheap KYB.

Are the Tokico's worth another $80?

These are going on a 91 Hatch Sunday driver with Ford "B" springs.

I'm only looking for a replacement that rides/handles decent I just don't want to buy the KYB's and be dissapointed.

i've never used either but I would defiantly spring for the tokico's. All i've heard from people had been KYB's are garbage no matter what style they are. Better off doing doing it once than doing it twice. That will cost you more money in the long run

I love my Tokico Blues. Along with the Steeda Sport Springs they make for a pretty nice ride. Its pretty firm, but not harsh (like cut springs).

If you can get adjustables.

I like my KYB's on the vert. THey greatly improved the ride. Then again, When i pulled out the old struts, they were all blown. So anything would be better than that.

Also Tokico made the shocks that were used on the Bullit suspension.

If something with decent drop (like B's), I'd do the Tokicos personally. Note that I have not run KYB's on a fox though.

I do run HP's with a Prokit and the HP's seem to work well with the very limited spring travel. The dampening is tight but not super harsh.

If funds allowed, I'd go with the Tokicos, but as said above, anything will likely be a marked improvement.

Don't forget new isolators if you think yours might be shot. When I swapped springs in the 88 a few months ago, my fronts were kinda ok but the rear isolators came out in pieces on the bottom and the tops were kinda gnarled.

Just finished installing the rear Tokicos, as well as "B" springs and new quad shocks and the difference is astounding!!

In addition, the ease of the install is amazing, it took about an hour per side. Highly rec the Tokico's I paid $230 shipped off e-bay.

I'll be installing the fronts soon.

umm get the tockio's kyb is crap, and as always you get what you pay for, really the best way to go is bilstien, maximum motorsports has a custom valving that is awsome, they are a little pricey like 600 a set, but like i said you get what you pay for
