Need Wiring Help!!! Please

After cleaning up some former aftermarket alarm wiring from under my dash, I plugged my headlight switch in and one of the two black wires that goes into the back of the plug literally burned... I am assuming these are grounds, but my Chilton Manual does not show diagram well. Does anybody have any ideas, or have a schematic? The car is a 90 LX no fog lamps.

Figured it out, it was

a direct short in the headlight switch.... Spent several hours repairing wiring, and replaced the switch.
