Needed help with changing Ball joint

Looks like I have bad ball joint but I have taken rims and don't play/move at all,only clunk I have when I drive in reverse and hit brake hard ,I check everything on that driver side (bolts ,bushings) everythings seems good
Anywat how you guys change ball joint , because I have this problem with my old 92 Probe LX because this ball joint when is taken out , hole is wider than new ball joint , what I did on my Probe is I weld just little bit on 3 side,
Is there any other way to do it or not

I rented a press to press the old one out and press the new one in, It is a realy, realy tight fit. You should not have to weld it.
