can you guys explain to me the neg wedge kit. ive got a 65 coupe that i would like to lower in front a little more. so far i have 620# drop springs and the 'shelby drop'. but i would like it a tad lower. im probably going to cut 1/2 of a coil out and she should sit pretty good. but then ive seen guys do this neg wedge kit...what exactly is it for? how hard is it to do? ect. load me up with info . thanks

cut the springs.

but cut only 1/4 coil at a time , use a cut off saw, dont use a torch.

then re-align the car (important)

and if its still to high wait a while before cutting more, let the springs break in, it may come down over time.

repeat if necessary.

If your not going to lower the mounting point more than 1", you don't need a wedge kit. The wedge kit is to keep the ball joint from binding with a 1 3/4" drop.

I would cut the coils 1/4 coil at a time too.

Correct, the upper arm will hit the bump stop before the ball joint comes into bind with the 1" drop.
