My neighbor just bought a brand new (no previous owner) 2007 Silver Vette. He let me drive it around the neighborhood and man that car has some balls!!! It had great pickup as an automatic so you can just imagine what the stick feels like. When I gunned it the front end rose in the air more than expected. Is it supposed to do that? Is it just because I'm not used to driving anything with that much HP? I plan on getting one at the end of this year or early next and before you ask THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I'M TRADING IN MY STANG FOR ONE What are you guys' opinion on the new Vettes? I know this is a stang site but I think we all can appreciate a well built american muscle car.

A guy at work has a 2007 Z06. I got a ride in it several months back and it's an AMAZING car! I still have to give him a hard time that it has leaf springs and push rods.

He ran through 2nd gear from about 1500rpm, it was an animal from there to 7000rpm. The way it made torque from idle to red line was relentless. On my 4.6, I can tell it's a bit soft in the low rpms, and torque drops off quickly past 4000rpm. That 7.0 just made a LOT of torque EVERYWHERE. It's not just an engine either. The chassis handles the power very nicely. He punched it in 1st and the tires held traction.

It's a very refined car too. It was perfectly at home in city traffic, but the clutch might be a bit aggressive to enjoy traffic.

I don't have the money for a vette, but I'll enjoy beating them with the 4cyl this year. *excludes new Z06*

Please ask me how much my supercharger cost

They are only a few ticks faster than an 03/04 cobra. If course, it depends on the driver. Last time I was out at the drag strip, I saw an 03/04 cobra running 13.4-13.6 lol. I've also seen a vette on the bottle run a high 13. He was smoking the tires a good half track though. He elected not to make any more passes on the bottle, and ran a bit quicker after turning on the traction control and making a pass without the bottle.

ive also seen a 12.0X at 118mph, bone stock c5 z06(405hp), on stock rubber. He was one of the first members on stangnet, JBVOBRA.

Track prep and driver is all that is.

bone stock c6's are going 11.70-11.90's at 116-120mph. Thats moving......

They are fast. I drove a 2006 C6 at a Chevy Driving Experiance here in KC a couple of yrs ago. That thing has some serious ball! Vette's are very well put together car. My buddy had a 98 C5 model and it was nice. His was red. We took a trip from KC to Ohio. The amazing thing about it was his car got 26mpg on our trip. We ran that thing anywhere from 65 to 85 on the highway. The run flat
tires are a little noisy. Other than that, great cars. Pearl02.

they dyno more...and weigh less

and as stated above, the ls3 is even more underrated. C6 vettes are no joke, especially when you factor in that they get better traction than we do, and have better aerodynamics.

they dyno more than 363? Why would corvette underrate them from factory? Corvette owners don't need to worry about insurance costs, dyno'ing more would mean 9% drivetrtain loss otherwise - lol.

well, chevy is doing it, big time.
most ls3's dyno in the 365-390rwhp area, bone stock
exhaust, and they are looking at 425-440rwhp
