They're nice cars. Doesn't take many mods to make them move, but their parts are expensive. Last fall I raced my buddies full exhaust '05 LS2 C6 and pulled him pretty good. And he ran side by side against a 500hp heads/cam Lingenfelter. All of this was in Mexico, of course.

With your car, yea, you should pull on him. Most of the people who post on how they'd take a Vette make no where near the HP you do.

The Vette is a beast, plain and simple. If you aren't making OVER 400 at the wheels, don't even try and race a new one.

Seems there are quite a few Mexico's popping up across most of the USA now a days...

I was at work the other day and a guy pulled up in a black C6 Z06 with hypercoated wheels (dunno if GM calls them that) and oh my God... this thing sounded NASTY. I imagine it was all stock, but just listening to it you could tell they put a healthy cam in there stock (assuming it was).

I just started at the guys car for minutes... it was so sleek, yet muscular as all get out.

Every Vette I had I loved so getting one and having the Stang is a cool setup

3 more horsepower and 10 less torque. I've seen driver races out of a bigger difference in weight and power than that.
3241 lbs. - 3179 lbs. = 62 lbs. That's the difference between a slender person and a heavy set person Now you're going to go on about suspension and areodynamics, but the fact is that's not an obvious winner. I've driven the new C6, im impressed - i like the car. But i'm not going to go around saying it will beat supercharged mustangs in a straight line stock.

I commend GM for building what ford pussed out on; thee ultimate small block 427 ci dry sump 500+ hp on nuts oh ya an all aluminum to boot.

Straight line? umm how about the driving experience?

I've driven an auto 6L vette and it ran hard minus the huge delay in switching gears. Torque? How much and when do you want it because you've got plenty of credit.

Magazines make fun of old-school technology, but GM makes it work.

Has there been a bone stock gt500 to beat that z06 corvette's time of 10.85 yet?

Apples to oranges there. You're comparing a muscle car to a sports car (borderline super car). Save the z06 for the 911's and GTR's.

I'd love to get a Z06, even one that's not new - unfortunately I am in the "saving for a house" mode, so, no more $ to throw at cars for now.

i have the pleasure of working for a chevy dealer that has a 08 z06 and a couple 08 ls3 c6s in stock. i took the z06 out for a fuel run yesterday they are incredible machines....and as far as getting traction it can only be done with easy throttle... if you stand on it even with the traction control on it just blows them away. the ls3 is also a very impressive car doesnt feel that much slower than the z06. dont get me wrong there is a difference but its not as big as it once was.. if you get the chance to drive one take it...even if you cant stand chevys.
