I just took delivery of my new '04 Cobra last night. I am a former LS1 owner, and made the mistake of buying a Lexus in between the LS1 and this Cobra. I can tell you after the first 80 miles of driving this car, it is INCREDIBLE. I now need all of the suggestion of my first mods.

1. Exhaust?
2. Pulley?
3. Intake?
4. Programming?

With these four, how much power should I be able to make? TIA for all of the help.

Congrats. Welcome back from the dark side. Start with an air induction system and a cat-back. People are getting huge gains from just those changes. Pulley would be good next choice.

On the 03/04 Cobra:

Catbacks are worth ~22rwhp
Intakes are worth ~14-20rwhp
Midpipes are worth 12-16rwhp
Full exhausts are worth ~50-70rwhp.
Pullies - Limitless power

I can tell you that a guy at orlando speedway was trapping 116 with a 2.8 (I think?) pulley, a K&N intake, and magnaflow catback and x-pipe.

I bought a Screaming Yellow one on Thurs. As I own a Dyno-jet dyno and am an SCT dealer we dumped the oil, baselined it on the dyno and already burned a chip. The car baselined at an SAE corrected 385hp/361lb-ft and after the SCT tune we got it to 392hp/385 lb-ft. The motor gained 16hp and 30 lb-ft from 2000-5500 rpm. Hard to believe it's rated at 390hp at the crank. I will be documenting on our website different mods starting with chip then Magnaflow exhaust, 2.93" pulley and lastly the cold air kit. You will be able to see what each upgrade gained in real RWHP.

Here's a better view of the dyno graph before and after the SCT tune.

ahhh

Nice congrats

I did my pulley first 2.80 and a superchip tune. I enjoyed driving a sleeper haha well a sleeper as far as cobras go. The car was fun when it was quite but fast as hell..

I ran 435hp with just 2.80 upper and a superchip and drop in K+N. I also ran my best times with that set up 11.70 (bfg drag radials)

Now I have bassani X and cat back, CAI and a custom superchip tune and running 471hp with QA1 shocks and Drag radials my best so far has been 11.78....but that was when it was 80 degrees outside

I just have to learn how to drive again..

I love the car now, but its tough to stay out of trouble on the street because the bassani is so loud. Its fun at the track, but difficult to open it wide up around town without attracting too much attention.

I like the Raptor shift light too..... and the superchip tune automatically gets rid of the stock shift light. The superchip tune i got deleted the lousy traction control too.

of course if you want to preserve your warrenty then exhaust would be a good place to start and CAI. Then chip and then pulley.

You will love anything you do.
