New 09 GT/CS **PICS FIXED**

We just picked this up last Wednesday for my fiance. It's an 09 GT California special automatic. It went back to the dealer yesterday for a formal detail, since it was snowing and nasty when we bought it. They also took it to get tinted, 20% all around and a 6" 5% strip in the windshield. So far she is loving the car. I am actually a Dodge guy, drive a quad cab RAM, and this is the first Ford I have actually liked. She had an 01 V6 that I thought was total crap. The car was very cared for but still felt very cheap, inside and out. This new 09 seems very well built.

I don't have a lot of plans for it other than axle back exhaust, which will be at least 4 months away, after we get married. Also maybe the home link rear view mirror if I can get a good deal.

Anyways, here are the pics.

I see no photos. Is that much tint legal?

Legally I think it's 20% on the back and 35% on the front windows. The windshield can be down to the that little black line. However, this is exactly how I have tinted every vehicle I have owned and it has never been an issue with the cops.

Can anyone else see the pics? They show up fine for me on my work PC and home PC.

I see the photos now but they are huge. I think your tint is illegal in my state, Kentucky.

Yep, that tint would be illegal in my state too.

It's a sweet ride nonetheless.

A friend of mine, a police officer, was killed in the line of duty. Dark tints are dangerous for police officers approaching a car. That's why dark tint is illegal.

Who cares about the tint if it's illegal??? Seriously? It's already ruining this guys first thread. If he cared, he'd ask. Why hasn't anyone told me my 5% is illegal on my 5.0, and my 15% on my Grabber Orange is illegal??

This is a double edged sword. Every police officer I know has atleast 15% tint... The whole side of my fathers family are in law inforcement... and they all have dark tint.

Good point.
And I'm pretty sure not every LEO always obeys the speed limit.

A reputable shop will not install illegal tint. They know it is illegal and if the owner of the vehicle gets a ticket they are at least partially responsible.
Dark tint prevents a police officer, or anyone else, from seeing who is behind the wheel. There are times that can be dangerous. Simple fact.
Didn't mean to stir a controversy.
I love the CS. Wish I had one.

if you are not a threat to the officer, you would roll down the windows as soon as the lights come on and you pulled over. then the officer can see exactly what you are doing. its kinda like gun laws, the criminals do their own thing anyway. we all have things that we do that limit test the written laws, tint is no exception.

That is one beautiful ride bro!

You will love every second you are in this car. I got my CS back in May and I have already put 14,700 miles on her LOL. Most of my friends will tell me to not drive it and that maybe I should drive my v6 more often, but a car was made to drive and I'm enjoying the hell out of this.

Love that black
