New 1/4 mile times.. Confused on some

I posted this in the Northeast section but I figured I would post it here and see if anyone had ideas or comments.

Well, went to New England Dragway tonight and beat the car up. The times are improving, but the last one just completely baffles me (60ft compared to time)

First Run
R/T = .697
60' = 1.842
330 = 5.488
1/8 = 8.556
MPH = 81.01
1000 = 11.178
1/4 = 13.38
MPH = 102.53
Stuffed 3rd gear

Second Run
R/T = 1.036
60' = 1.825
330 = 5.419
1/8 = 8.436
MPH = 82.21
1000 = 11.023
1/4 = 13.196
MPH = 103.91
Stuffed 3rd gear

Third Run
R/T = .644
60' = 1.771
330 = 5.396
1/8 = 8.429
MPH = 81.79

Fourth Run
R/T = .842
60' = 1.964
330 = 5.530
1/8 = 8.538

I am really confused with the lat 60' and the final time. I would have figured that time with the 1.7 60' but with a 2.2???? Any suggestions.

Nice times! Yea...sometimes the 60' dont match the 1/4 times. My 14.10 had a 2.47 60' foot.

I've had this happen to me too. Hard traction off the line wont let you trap as high of a speed. Spinning the tires off the line will increase trap speed. The only concludion I can come up with is the higher trap made up for the poor launch bringing down your time. I have no idea if this even makes any sense...but its the only thing I can think logical...this has happend to me many times.

simply looks like the 60' timer was off

the last slip probably has the corrct 60ft time, but the 1/4 time has to be off. Compare the 1/8 et, 1000 ft et with the other slips. I'd say you ran more like 13.44, not 13.04

as far as the mph, that will happen occasionally on a run where you spin off the line and 60ft poorly.

My buddy had an interesting theory about my runs. He said that the runs where I had great 60' times I did not drive the remainder of the 1/4 mile as hard, but there I screwed up the launch I felt I had to make up for the mistake and drove the hell out of the car for the remainder of the 1/4 mile.

I will definitely say inexperience has a lot to do with it.

I think the 1/4 was supposed to be like 13.44 instead of .04 ??? i don't know

I already explained what happened. If you want to really learn how to analyze timeslips, you have to look at all the incremental splits. It's very obvious the last slip had a malfunction at the 1320' et, or you read it wrong.

Take all the 1000 ft splits and subtract from the 1/4 split. The ****ed up slip will stick out like a sore thumb. You won't magically make a huge difference between those two increments by "driving the hell out of it", unless you happen hit a nawz button 1000ft out.
